Luigi Desiderio

Humble Beginnings

Having passed through several members of the extended Desiderio Family, it was finally in the early 1920's that Luigi came to open a small fancy goods store at N.16 in Piazza Umberto I, the main Piazza of the town of Capri. A very different place from what it has become today nevertheless the Piazza has  always been the heart of Capri.
Luigi sold imported goods of different types that could be described as luxury items, amongst which where jewelry, hair accessories, cigarette cases and lighters as well as pieces made of tortoise shell and silver.

Paolo Desiderio

The Generation to come..

Though Paolo had been in and around the store since he was a boy, it was as a young man that he started to learn the business from his father. Paolo took over the fancy goods store in the early 1960's and slowly started introducing gemstones, pearls and coral native to the area into the store. It was ultimately to become one of the first high-end jewelry boutiques of Capri.

Enrico & Andrea Desiderio

Carrying on the Tradition

As the tradition goes, fathers have taught sons of the Desiderio family and this has brought the store forward for over 90 years. Enrico Desiderio like his father before him grew up in the context of the family business and took over in 2003 when Paolo retired. Enrico continued to work with important national and international brands such as Mario Buccellati, Chaumet, Mikimoto, Crivelli, Leo Pizzo, Marco Bicego and Pomellato among others.
Andrea Desiderio, Enrico's son, now works alongside his father in their landmark jewelry boutique, making it a 4 generation family business that is trusted and respected by locals and tourists alike.
